White As Snow

Can't we all use a fresh coat of WHITE PAINT?

As I began painting this little cherub

and watched how every brush stroke brought it

closer to its final transformation,

I was taken back in time to January of '96

when I, myself, was given the

Ultimate Makeover

This world had become a comfortable

place to dwell and I had taken a

"if you can't beat them, join them" attitude.

I had burned the bridge between me and God

and I was left clutching fistfuls of ashes

As the last of the dying embers

still burned at my feet,

My Savior reached down

and pulled me from the muck

"To all who mourn in Zion, He will give

A CROWN OF BEAUTY FOR ASHES,

a joyous blessing instead of mourning,

festive praise instead of despair,

in their righteousness, they will be like

great oaks that the Lord has planted

for His own glory."    Isaiah 61:3

My life was like an abandoned house,

desolate and in ruins,

that somebody saw potential in.

It was gutted, refurbished,

and given a fresh coat of

"WHITE PAINT"
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.”     2 Corinthians 5:17

The Lord is still working on "upgrades"

but know that He will never go "retro" lol

“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Put away the evil of your doings
from before My eyes.
Cease to do evil,
Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow.
“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow"
  Isaiah 1:16-18

Golden Cherub

Tucked away in a corner of my wall unit

this little gold angel sat, waiting...

for a makeover.

(playing with new photo editing site)

 I will be revealing the

"new look" on Tuesday night.

I'm so excited!!!

Hope you had a blessed weekend,

I love vintage lights!

So I always have a few

lighting up my space at

Country Roads Antiques.

This beautiful dome chandelier

has over 50 prisms dangling

from it's filigree frame.

I fancy the ones

with glass baubles!

And those which have

a glass base that lights

independently from

the main light.

They make a great

night light or better yet

mood light. (wink)

~All lights are now available at CRA

These are a few vintage clocks

from my personal collection.

It's so hard to say goodbye

but it's "time". lol

Crystal decanters {sigh}

I debated posting this picture

when I noticed Mr CB's

reflection in the mirror.

I focus so much on the subject,

I forget to check the backgroungd

for "intruders". (chuckle)

I rescued these very pretty

Limoges plates that were

buried in a box at the swap meet.

Those are always the best finds

since you get them at a steal.

 These beautiful hanpainted

Lefton saucers were found

in that same box, score!

 This frame was dark wood.

I painted it vintage white

and distressed it.

I think it compliments

the white roses.

Don't you agree?

Now lets go over to

Kathleen's @ Faded Charm

for a White Wednesday treat!

I hope you've missed me,

even just a tiny bit.

I know I've missed you.

I'm feeling a little rusty, so just let me

show you a few pics of some vignettes

I've created in Space 22 at

Country Roads Antiques.

Isn't she gorgeous?

She's been modeling my collection

of vintage hats.

This beautiful black cloche

was one of my faves.

Vintage clutches?

Sequined, beaded, crocheted,

I love them all!

The tall, black straw hat

was the first to go.

All three vintage sweaters sold.

Two of them are on their way

to a show in Santa Monica.

I have a "Display Only" tag

on this table, I'm not sure

I want to part with it.

Don't tell Mr C B  : )

Farm Fresh goodies...

A couple of Wedding Planners

were considering this beauty

for a prop... a sign-in table perhaps?

And lastly, this is my new

Spring craft!

I took it to my neighbor Ms Gail,

who is a fellow vendor,

so she could help me price it.

She set it down and said

"look how pretty this looks on my table"

(hint, hint, nudge, nudge) lol

I knew, then, they were

bound to be a hit!

Thanks for stopping by,

Like a dream...

In a quaint little corner of Valley Center, Ca,

nestled on the grounds of the Betty Crocker Estate,

stands an old rustic barn filled with so much

eye candy it made me tear up with joy!

Allow me to take you on a magical tour of

Matilda's Mouse Antiques

As I walked up to the barn doors I was

greeted by it's beautiful surroundings...

The minute I walked in, I was transported

to a place that I had only seen in my most

wonderful shopping dreams...

there were Christmas trees galore...

even Christmas trees that weren't

There were hutches and shelves filled

with so many wonderful goodies...

beautiful large vignettes...

and small vignettes...

large pieces...

and not so large pieces...

(you might think this is a teacup with a tiny bird, it's actually a chamber pot with a large bird. lol)

and my favoritistist of all...

cloches, so beautifully displayed!

and who checks you out at the register?

Matilda herself!

(check out Matilda's Mouse for event dates, since they are only open 3 days a month)
(BTW: did you notice the aqua theme going on? Squeal!!!!)

Thank you all for joining me!

I hope you enjoyed the tour, and I pray

that all are staying focused on what

the season is all about.

Merry CHRISTmas!
